Welcome to Sloopside and its charming Annexe, where contemporary comfort meets the serene beauty of Bantham village on the mouth of the Avon Estuary. Nestled in a quiet corner, both properties are just a short stroll from the unspoilt Bantham Beach, a favourite among surfers, wild swimmers, and water sports enthusiasts. The historic 14th-century Sloop Inn is conveniently close, promising delightful local experiences right at your doorstep.


Both Sloopside and the Annexe feature a reverse-level arrangement, with living spaces on the first floor to maximize the breathtaking panoramic views of Bigbury Bay and the iconic Burgh Island. These residences are designed with family and friends in mind, offering spacious, airy interiors perfect for gathering and relaxation. Each property is equipped with first-class facilities, ensuring a memorable holiday experience.

Upon entering the main house, you’ll find a spacious hall with ample storage and a utility cupboard. The ground floor hosts two well-appointed bedrooms that open onto a sunny garden. The main bedroom features a super king bed (convertible to twin singles) and an en-suite shower room, while the double bedroom offers a king-size bed. A family bathroom and a bunk room with full-size bunk beds complete the ground floor.

Upstairs, the open-plan living space boasts a well-equipped kitchen with a large island and breakfast bar, perfect for culinary adventures. The dining table for ten and a covered al fresco dining area on the wide balcony make mealtime a delight. The living area features a smart TV, leather sofas, and a cozy wood-burning stove. An additional first-floor bedroom with a king-size bed and en-suite bathroom offers a tranquil retreat with sea views.

The Annexe mirrors the main house’s thoughtful design with a welcoming entrance hall and utility cupboard. The ground floor includes two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and en-suite bathroom, and another double bedroom with flexible bedding arrangements. A family bathroom with a shower over the bath is also available.

The first-floor open-plan living area in the Annexe features a well-equipped kitchen and dining table for six, with sliding doors leading to a wraparound balcony that offers stunning views. The living area, complete with a smart TV, leather sofas, and a wood-burning stove, ensures a cosy atmosphere year-round.

Both properties offer beautiful outdoor areas. Sloopside’s main house features a sunny garden with a spacious patio, evergreen hedging, bench seating, sun loungers, a barbecue, and a Little Tikes Wendy House for children. Stairs from the outdoor dining area lead to this private oasis. The Annexe boasts a sunny garden with a patio area, bench seating, sun loungers, a barbecue, and a gently sloping lawn leading to a wildflower garden. Both properties provide ample parking, with five car space between the two properties.

We are Niccy and David Lynch from West London. We have been holidaying with our family in beautiful Bantham for almost fifty years. Bantham is a very special, unspoilt place, and we love spending time there throughout the year. Sloopside is walking distance from Bantham Beach and a stone’s throw from the Sloop Inn.
